does any one travel with their scooters on a plane before? i might take my scoot on vacation and i was wonderin how does it get checked and on the plane? do i have to take the bolts out and put it in my lugage or what????

Yep. I took mine to mallorca(btw the street spots there were effing immense, but there was only one ramp on the part of the island that i was in and it was a metal 9ft vert that put a big flatspot in my wheel[burning it]). Put it in your luggage, i unlocked my foldy folded it down and re-tightened... Then shoved it in my main case with all my clothes and junk and got it on the other end. No checks were done or anything. Rode for 2 weeks and had a laugh and did the same on the way back.

I've also been paris with it but that was on the euro tunnel.

p.s. don't try take it hand luggage or they'll freak. and don't take it apart to each specific part because then it looks suspicious if they do check something, it as a whole scooter is how it makes sence.

I usually just take my bars off and put it in my check in luggage. I know the Babboons would just bolt the foldy in folded position and carry them on, I wouldn't trust that though. They prolly wouldn't let you through or something dumb.

if u have a scs u just take the bars off and the fork and headset still stay together i love it

i went to florida with my scooter, took bars and wheels off and unlocked the foldy so it could fold and they didn't give me any hassle.

Yeah, I have 20" by 22" and I have to carry a mad big suitcase. That's what it would be nice to have Buff bars, so you could take the cross bar off and just carry a duffel bag or something.

Dude, i remember in NY you had a 18" wide suitcase, since me and Sanchez were comparing my bars with your case and wondering where were your bars.

As for this thread: i had a separate bag for scooters and parts which went in as luggage at the check-in.

you can check two bags,
if you just unbolt your foldy,
fold it, then rebolt it, you can check it as a bag.

does anyone know if it would be cool if i just disassembled my scoot into 3 pieces(deck+fork+wheels/t-tube+crossbard/steertube) and put it in my luggage bag? cuz thats what im planning on doing...

i put my scoot on a plane today

All i did was take it to the oversise luggage drop off and they took it in one piece nothing taken off.

when i arrived i just grabbed it and did some whips at the airport
