last few aren't so much as trends as unfortunate characteristics of riders, but they're still things that could be easily fixed.

This thread is so dumb. I do agree with the parts trend, if I see one more mgp smx combo I think I'm gonna shoot myself.. do tricks because YOU want to do them... don't say I'm not gonna bri because it's "trendy"

i have to push mongo haha, but to be honest you cant even tell when i film because i almost never push, but honestly the crows/smx/madd gear is pretty dumb, i think its a good setup if you can ACTUALLY foot jam, but alot of people get it just to ride that stuff, i think people should get more bone death and just ride gnarly stuff and stop being so scared, well just my take on it

This article is not my favorite. Trends are childish, so as you get older, you learn to ignore them. I don't see why they need to beaten or avoided. It's a phase kids go through.
Am I going to have to make it a point every week that these are editorials, meaning that they are my opinion? They aren't the ultimate truth. Feel free to take stabs at me, someone did it in another thread on an article of mine and I am not too broken up about it. Though you did say "do tricks because YOU want to do them" then "don't think you're cool and unique because you only do manuals, sliders, and turndowns." A bit hypocritical, wouldn't you say?

Exactly, I have so much more respect for someone who hucks themselves down big gaps and sets, than someone who only carves the bowl and then does a quadruple whip flyout.
This sport needs more creativity and more "balls out" type of riding. I'm not just talking about street riding, vert and the occasional person who rides gnarly park is sick too!
sorry alex, I just dont really understand your place in this community. you hate on people and tell them how to ride, how about we just let people ride? if you wanna do front sliders and turndowns thats fine but do it for yourself not to prove that you're different

I agree completely, not once have i said "i wanna get sponsored" or "what kinda tricks could get me a sponno," i i ever did ask someone about a trick or sponsorship, its because its either fun to do, or i really need the sponsorship (in the sense that im literally going bankrupt and being driven out of the sport, but obviously repping a company and being able to help someone out would be sick). Just go out and ride for fun, it doesnt matter if all you do is hops, or if you can do every goddamn trick in the scooter scene, as long as it makes you happy and your having fun. Dont go out and say "oh i want a sponsorship" "i wanna be pro" "i wanna learn _______ so i can get sponsored" just go out and learn it for yourself, and be unique, and have fun, thats what ive been revolving on for ages now, and all my tricks are scattered everywhere. I have a bunch of tech, a bunch of street, some combos, vert, etc.
Bottom line, go out and have fun doing what you love. Dont do it to be cool, or to look good, just do it for fun. If you get a sponsorship, sweet deal, as long as you stay away from following the trend of being a show off, and trying to look cool/good.

This post was not made to hate on anyone, just educate people to do their own thing. That is all. I just dislike the idea of a clone army of scooter riders which is the way things are headed right now.
I'd also like to know why people always bring up sliders and turndowns when talking to me, I have never been trying to prove I was different, I was just trying to do something that is fun and happened to be different from things that others were doing. I don't watch video to see what people are not doing so I can amend my trick list.
