to my knowledge they use mild steel but if your looking to make your own then i suggest using 4130 chromoly, there is this website that has any size you would need, found here. you can also order the tubes from that site.

yea i wasnt too sure about that one, lol

but that is a good metal website my friend was thinking about make ti bars and getting the metal from that site but its too hard to find someone who can weld it.

its easy to weld unless you need a dif kind of welder for ti
