Upgrade from Canaon Rebel XTI

Ok so i need some help on this one... I am looking to upgrade my XTI body, and I only have 900 dollars.
So if some one would want to help out on this, that would be amazing.

I am also looking for a better zoom lense than my 75-200. Also I am looking for a good place to buy an 8GB CF card.

So any ideas you got!

well nothing is really wrong with it. I wanted to upgrade because the XTI is good for scooter and other action picuters but its not that good for other things. Like landscapes or portriats

get a 5D, 30D, 1D, or 1Ds
and upgrade your zoom to the 70-200 f/2.8

and for the 8gig cf card, i heard that those have a lot of problems and some brands won't hold the full 8 gigs.

its cheaper and easier to just get 4 2 gig cards

I am gonna get a new lens(70-200 f/2.8)
I am going to get it for 400 from a guy in my photography club.

but anyway get a canon eos 20d body, a tamron 70-300mm telemacro theyre really cheap for such a far zoom i got mine used for under $200
and why do you need such a big memory card? with my 1gb memory card i can get around 700 pictures on the lowest quality and thats still bigger resolution than suited for web related photos
the only reason to use the highest quality is if your planning on blowing it up big....like really big and even if you set it at medium quality you could get plenty of photos
id recommend if you need so much just carry more than one card like i have 2 1gb CF cards and i never ever use the second one do you honestly take more than 700 pictures a day? i mean to do that you would basically just have to chill on multishot for a long ass time haha

those pictures were from my point and shoot and the first week i had a slr.
that was about a year ago. things change. i just had an interview for the yearbook and the teacher, who has had some students (people that i learned some stuff from, that also get payed for their pictures for their college newspaper) and she thought my work was excelent.

so you can quit being a dick now. i dont really care what you think. i shoot with pros at football games all the time, so i get the lowdown on the best gear and what not. and who cares if i have 3 grand lying around in a bank? i'm not really proud of it, people usually don't like me for being the "rich kid" with the "expensive camera" and the "house full of computers" and what not.

if you want me to post some of my latest work, i'll be more than happy to.

and this guy wanted a good zoom lens, so i recomended my favorite one, that every single one of my photography friends have.

and for $400, thats an amazing deal. just check it out first, make sure theres no scratches and the af works good and what not.

I got myself banned.
If you want new i'd get a 40D, or get a used 30D or 20D... thats all there is to upgrade to for a reasonable price unless you switch to Nikon...

yeah son. although chances are you really don't need to upgrade, you're still learning, a rebel is fine.

i disagree with everyone else though, i usually shoot raw which leads to huge file sizes, so getting a bigger card definitely comes in handy.

I think i found a good way to spend it.
$400=70-200 f/2.8(Local)
$240=430EX Speedlite(B&H photo)
$65=4GB CF(Local)

Let me know what you guys think!
also there is about 240ish left
what should i do

shane you should save for some sort of wide angle or fisheye with the money you have left over maybe?

or get a flash tansmitter idk what theyre called for canon i think dylan has one, so you can get the 430ex off your camera and use it as a slave?

yeah, the speedlight transmitter is about $220

the first 5 pages are stuff i just uploaded. i have some good concert pictures if you want me to upload them, they are on my laptop and wireless internet is being gay now.

so i dont care if you like them or not, i have my own style of art, and this is my perception on life. i like shooting high contrasty b&w pictures, so if you don't like it, dont comment it.
