A year ago I came across a shoe company named vibram. Yes they do look like toe socks or alien feet. I personally own 2 pairs. Before you hate on these shoes try on a pair I will add a link to there web site if you want more info. Discuss.....

They make soles for most mountaineering companies, they themselves are a specialised barefoot running company (google it if you don't know what that is). I own merrell shoes, karrimor shoes and some others which all have vibram soles, bit I would never wear those
