video cameras

i am looking to a buy a video camera to video tape some stuff that i do. I know i cant do much, but i still want a video camera. Would you guys inform me about what kind of video camera i should get, and how much they cost.

miles youre a complete fool, hes only a beginner i really doubt he needs that.

you should obviously get a sony hdr-fx1 ~ $4,300

but seriously just go to www.camcorderinfo.com and search around, youll find pretty much all the info u need

Hah. You have to get the Panasonic AG-HVX200
It's like SO cool.

EDIT: The Optura 10 or 20 if you are looking for a minidv cam. It is pretty good for a 1 chip camera.

cnet.com has lots of video cameras and some have videos of them if you can get a Sony VX1000 they are favored in skateboarding and filming scootering and skateboarding are a lot alike. just get a fisheye too.

well that also saves battery life and makes it cheaper, and i film way better using an eyepiece but that's just me.

day light colors and audio are better than a vx21k from what ive seen/heard and the fisheye is better, althought somone modded their mark1 onto to fit their vx2.. but vx2's last longers, its all preference

i use gl2s and vx1ks....the death for vx has vig. and gl2 doesnt and i dont use lcd view fiinder when im filming hardly at all...watching ur footage ona vx is so lame, u look in the eye peice and it plays ona screen the size of ur finger nail its lame but when u film theres no need to look at any part of the camera just point and aim thats the whole point for a deathlens it makes shit huge. when i film in dark with vx i cant really tell that much of a difference unless the gl2s on tri pod for a zoom angle and the vx is being used to film what ever and when u use both for dub angles it looks a tad bit diff but depends on how the cams set up.
