Video Chat between AIM and Ichat users.

How do you get this to work right. I have to newest version of AIM and my friend has Ichat and we were trying to get a video chat to work and I wasn't. He would show up but I wouldn't. How do I know the camera is connected or what?

Yeah, I plug in my video camera, because that works on stickam but when I try to chat with my friend who use's ichat it doesn't work
