Video project for school is 5.6gb... i need to get it at 4.7gb or under to fit on DVD. I never ever compress videos for DVD because i don't want to lose quality. What is the best solution to keeping as much quality as possible but lowering the file size to fit on the DVD?

I got myself banned.
Export the video from your editing program with a codec and turn the quality down a bit, you usually can't tell the difference. I think you use Vegas so i can't help you with that, i only know how to do it in Premiere. Oh yeah and try to use an MPEG-2 codec, i think thats what DVD's use (or VOB or some shit i can't remember).

I'm still in school now but as i was leaving i set it up for a MPEG-4 something, and should i reduce it in the audio too? It said uncompressed and i just changed it to MP3 so that should reduce it a bit too? I need this by tomorrow haha.

Ehhh i wouldn't use MPEG-4. See if theres a MPEG-2 codec, if not, just use like any codec that exports as AVI and lets you compress it a little. Just leave the audio settings as is.

from any of those settings do you see one that would keep a good quality? I really don't know different formats and whatnot... I could just start playing with settings and figure out which work best but this would be easier if someone knew vegas a little better than me or whatever.
