I've taken kids to their parents before.
"Yo, i nearly smashed your kid doing 35 down the vert, please teach him that skateparks are just like roads, if you're not gonna look both ways, next time I might not be able to move out of the way."
That's the one thing every little kid needs to learn. Parks are just like roads. Look both ways before crossing.
Before you go, make sure noone else is on/about to go on a ramp you'll be using
Hell even ask if someone else would like to go, noone likes a park hog
If you do get in the way, simply apologize, little things make a big difference in respect.
And most of all
Little kids are little. Tell them this. When something big hits something small, the small thing will be overrun. And hurt much more than the big thing.
Children are dumb. We have to teach them in order for them to understand anything.
Especially at skateparks

Everybody starts somewhere bro.. You can't hate on "little kids that ride scooters" because there JUST little kids learning to do something and having fun. It just so happens there on scooters. So I think you have it all wrong, have this thing called respect and show it towards other people no matter how old they are and what they ride. If you have nothing nice to say they bounce on out of this place

but a majority of them aren't learning to do things. they just roll around and snake people. i met one little seven year old on a scooter who was trying to whip tranny, and i respect that. He was trying to learn. if all they want to do is ride around inside the bowl or down the ramps just getting speed and gliding around, oblivious to other riders, they should just ride in their neighborhood or in the park, NOT in a skatepark were they, or someone else, could get seriously hurt. i learned to ride scooters and bikes in my backyard, and then when i got interested in freestlye i moved to the park. We need to educate young kids that the skatepark is a place to have fun riding freestyle, not to have fun gliding around. its just to dangerous for them and us.

two sense? two fucking sense? the people on this forum whine about how scootering isn't respected. and i'm telling you why. i ride scooter just as much as i ride BMX.
so, what are you going to do? work on making scooter more presentable to the other people riding the skatepark, or whine a watch as scooters get kicked out of one park after another?
i don't want that. i want mature, responsable scooter riders to have the same rights as bmx'ers and skaters.

Ouch. Helmets aren't fashionable but they damn well work. I wound up tossing my scooter and trying to dodge the kid but he wound up falling back and getting hurt anyway.
But yeah. People need to learn that there will always be little kids getting in the way, but that's because they're dumb and don't know any better. Show them and teach them not to be oblivious fuckheads

Good thought...I have three boys 6/8/10 that all ride scooters..I'm not the type that just drops them off or sit in my car and not pay attention..I'm always trying to help them see different lines or things to do...and I always work with them about watching out for others and there lines...yeah they are kids and once in a while will get in someones line and I'm right there to tell them to watch the other skaters..It seems to me though that skateboarders seem to have attitudes towards scooter people...Funny thing is my 6 year old is the best out of all three...we'll see if he sticks with it...considering I just spent over $400 at scooter resource for him and he's birthday coming up

i know complaining on SR is not going to do anything and who cares if kids snake you its all right when they do 1 or 2 times but just tell them to stop and just cause there liitle kids doesnt mean anything it means that the sport of scootering is growing they might stink but theyll get better and it you hate on them theyll just give up on scootering
