once a friend of mine made wax with a ton of oil unintentionally

it came out wet all the time so it had to be carried in a ziplock haha and would always be wet, but it was slippery and nice as fuck to grind on when put on a ledge/deck

Mine was real soft it was slick but it was too weak

wax works way better when you put it on the grinding surface you're going to grind and idk about melting
 
Candle wax is essential. Things like cooking wax aren't soft enough to get a dense and even coating on the ledge. Instead of literally dripping candle wax onto a ledge, I find (and would recommend to anyone) that waxing the entire ledge beforehand, spraying it with a solvent/aerosol, sticking tissues to it, then lighting in on fire to be way more efficient. I've perma waxed quite a few ledges that way in my town, haven't gotten badgered yet...but it does look mighty weird for a second.
