We Need Dedicated Mods, **** this Website

When I first officially joined this site in 2008 (was a guest for nearly 2 years beforehand), it was a holy grail of knowledge, support, and information. It had structure. People joked around, but threads weren't constantly being spammed, bullshit threads got locked/deleted, people were given warnings and were told what to expect, people got dished bans, and the website stayed very progressive (constantly improving and getting better, getting more information out there, more people getting into the loop.) Now the site is taken over by children without a censor and no longer has any sort of backbone. Brian Boston, Brandon Kilbury, Hep Greg, Alex Steadman, ANDREW BROUSSARD (to name just a few) owned this site. Now we seldom see those names and it's gone to shit. Especially with Broussard, the creator of the site, who is basically nonexistent in the eyes of this forum. I can't spend more than a few months on this board without getting frustrated and finding myself leaving, only to come back hoping things have changed but I'm always disappointed. People like myself leave this website left and right. There's no more passion. This forum has been dead for some time.

This site isn't maintained at all and it's fucking ridiculous. If I'm not allowed to state the truth, someone dish me a ban, I wouldn't mind being gone for another few months with the way things are going. I just want something to happen. I want something to change. I want people to at least acknowledge this reality. Someone make me a moderator, I'm an adult who lives for this sport and have still managed to stick around this forum for years. I have a sincere passion for the riding, and a sincere passion in spreading knowledge, information, and constructed opinions/advice to others on this site. Or you know...don't.

Someone rally behind me

as right as you are i don't see it changing, i agree this site really helped me to find a love for scootering and i feel bad for anyone who comes here thinking they will find a great/helpful community.

I have been around for almost the same amount of time, although I never talked much here, reading was always of great pleasure and importance for my overall scooter-education, not to sound like an "old good times" guy, but I'm sorry my favorite threat www.scooterresource.com/forum/threads/your-custom-homemade-parts-thread.27744/page-92 has died out, too, people used to create stuff. When Ride Wire appeared, I was
skeptical and xenophobic at first, but it looked to have more care put in, and it resulted in a more pleasant place to be than SR, but when it went down, there were hopes that, as a compensation, as scooter riders needed a fine place to meet, SR would be cleaned out...but it has gotten as far as we see. Shame.
For some reason I felt a bit sorry after I just read a great reply from Madis in the 'Dirt scooter for street' thread (General D.), I am always happy to see such attitude here, it is a valuable input that, seems to me, is not much appreciated.

It is really hard to keep the forum a valuable resource when 15 of us need to hold up the roof to keep it from collapsing. We aren't Atlas or some shit and we can't keep it alive without help.

i was a lurker since about 09' and this forum has gone to shit. but fuck where else can we go? SR is a vital part of scooter history and we need to keep it up and running.
who actually owns/super-mods this forum these days? face it if we had like 3 or 4 new mods then it would make the bullshit a lot easier to handle.

yea im down to be a mod ill have andrew put me on this week.

BUT

you guys have to understand that forums are a dead format. its like being pissed at somebody for not hitting you back on AOL instant messenger or some shit. Facebook and instagram have taken over and there is not much to do about it. SR will always be here but it wont ever be what it used to. There will always be the die hard people on here but i dont really see the forum growing. the news section is what SR is focusing on now and they are doing a pretty good job. I would check the homepage more than the forums if i was you guys haha

also who is matt thom makes me warm.... haha

holy shit this also made me notice my 10 years on SR is next month
