Probably less than $20, and usually they'll do it on the spot. Most people I know who have gotten things welded get them done by people they know though, for free.

I know somone who will weld my foldy for free, but doesn't welding aluminum weaken it pretty bad unless it is heat treated again?

Yeah, most of the time^. But i think i remember stammler saying he payed like $3 a bar to get it welded. So as you can see, it's not expensive unless your welding like 300 bars.

welding materials for steel is pretty cheap.

aluminum isnt too bad, but it can be pricy.

most of the cost to take something to a welder is just in labor.

dude are you joking? A base model tig welder is like easily above 1000 dollars.
