back in 2006 and earlier, these were pretty much THE wheels everyone was riding. They were fast, grippy, and most importantly, strong. However, a new batch of YAK wheels came in to various retailers (including SR) in December 06/January 07. These wheels had not had enough time to cure, well something was wrong with them, and pieces would just break off and little powdery stuff would come out. These new, defective yaks were the first to have the grey rims as more common today. Thus, "Old" yaks became very valuable, as the only alternative wheels worth running were micro metalcores and hot glued stocks.

There ya go.
