theres not real big scooter companies out here but there are small compaines making it alot easier for us by helping with parts and scooters clothing as such..
but hopefully maby soon ther will be a bigger company that will help in more serious areas..

no publication, print or video, will help scootering. only scooter riders would buy it and that would accomplish nothing.

and? i bet 9/10 of those kids that saw it are 10 year olds that arent at all serious about riding. josh, even you have to admit the vast majority are going to quit after a year of riding or start skating. thats not helping the sport, its helping enlarge razors pocketbook. if scooterings every going to get big it needs SERIOUS riders, not preteens trying to be cool, and RVM, or anything else razor puts out, is not going to help get serious riders into the sport.

Depends on what level you take it. We can take a video and submit it to a large extreme sports channel. If we can catch interest from them, we can certainly gain interest from others. I wasn't listing RVM as the only thing that will help the sport. Just made an example that it HAS and will continue to do something. We have met a lot of riders between the ages of 12-16. But yes, for the mostpart just about 1/2 of the riders are little kids. But that's how sports are nowadays.

But anyways, in respects of ending this pointless debate this is my last post towards this thread. I just can't sit here and let you say that RVM videos aren't doing anything for our sport. No matter how lame the first two were. And I definetly can't read your replies that no advertising of any kind won't do anything either. How else do you think the word will be spread?!?!

i reckon we should do what frorider says and send a mag to all the sr members who are willing to pay for it, than if they show their frends that would help it locally. to boost the sport nationally, or even internationally, send RVM 3 or 4 to any good skate or BMX brand and see what they do with it, than hopefully one company will think its a good idea to invest in it (cos it is) and they can do so much with this great sport becos it is sooo unknown!

but EVERYONE has different opinions on this issue and i think if we ever do all get one idea together and act on it e.g send a vid to big companies

so why isnt razor trying to do that? thatd be a great idea, and something that actually would help the sport. if you, ricky, and anyone else there could somehow make that happen, itd push things along alot.

Razor takes care of its riders and it has serious riders.
you dont understand about RVM, RVM is so sick, just because the first 2 were the way they are doesnt mean shit, rvm3 was edited by someone different hmmm maybe an actual rider that knows whats up. RVM is not just a video its an experience as well, the team is built of some of the coolest people ive met and the team manager ali is one of the chillest people i have ever met...rvm4 is going to be amazing. the experience is amazing, just cruising around LA in t he Razor Team van with josh, ricky, Ali and 2 good skaters lookin for unique spots to hit up. pulling up to spots and skateparks in the razor van im sure locals that never seen it before start thinking LOL razor scooter team aahaha, but then when the riders get out and ride and then ali skates around and does his crazyyyy shit, no one at the parks really cant say shit or they will get shown up.

rvm is fine, ive been at skateparks around here and roller bladers and skaters and people have came up to me and asked me about RVM and how they have seen it and they dont even scooter. that shows it advertises just fine. let the sport chill...the sport getting big is not gonna happen over night. just go ride...damn.

seriously it really is. here, there is not really a skatepark...theres an indoor one where you spend more energy running up the slipplery ramps then you do riding and a new concrete one but you only get a little amount of time to ride b/c they dont allow scooters. so...
i arrive in LA around 8:30PM at the LAX and i go outside to wait and the razor van pulls up, ricky in the front ali driving and josh in the back seat, it was so straight
im not even in cali for 10 mins and we go get food and head straight to a skatepark.

Razor doesnt make anything to advertise freestyle scootering just because they can make way more by advertising and selling gay electric scooter/go cart/punk bike shit to fat kids than by advertising and selling pro models (well, it's sure that there's more fat kids with rich parents than scooter riders in the states).
I think that scootering just needs time. I remember that like 2 years ago people were speaking of comps but then they were impossible because there was no way to bring enough riders with skilled enough to stick a run in a park because of:
1.Most rider were kiddies and the couldnt drive
2.Lack of good riders in general.
Today were having comps (few but any)

No one is saying that Scootering isnt growing...It seems this debate/issue has turned into, What More Can Companies, Riders, And Most Importantly Razor, do to help expand our sport, and give it a jump start to get it to wear we all know it deserves to be....And still im sticking by what i say when i say that Razor can do more.

what if we tryed to get sponsored by sakte shoe companies, you show up in the skate vids, have pro skaters backing you. if you at least tryed, then it can't hurt. in my opinion, razor, doens't do much for the sport when it comes to making it serious, or anything, all they do is try to make money, yet they fail to realize that if they make sick vids, not RVM 1&2 then it would help... personally, if we got alot of corp. sponsorships or pro skaters backing us, it could go big. or try contacting espn, just because we're 14-18 or whatever doesn't mean we can't do shit. that's all i gotta say. but let's put these ideas into action, and make something of this, instead of just talking... peace.

no, actually. look at companies like dc that sponsor skaters, bmx, fmx, and surf. do you see any bmx, fmx, or surf in the DC video? if they wont put dave mirra in a skate video, they wont put a scooter rider in.

if you really want to try to get in videos, go local. im friends with bmxers that make crazy videos, the next one will be in dans comp, and ill probably have a couple clips in it. do that, and itll do something to help.

yea i think we should go locally but we can at least try to send a vid to a big company. HAS ANYONE TRIED TO SEND A VID TO A COMPANY LIKE DC OR SOMTHIN??? if not than at least try

K...asking them is one thing...Showing them is another. If i was a company, and some little kid called me and said, Do You Sponsor Skooter Riderz..? Id laugh and say go away...now if they showed me a video, with some good stuff, id think twice...Talk is cheap in this sport...Right now, if we want attention, we cant ask about it...we need to demand it, and SHOW why we want the things we want.....like Sponsorships, More Comps, And being able to be let into more parks.

yea, i have left messages to skate companies too, but i think we send a vid, with a letter, something to the extent of: " scooter riding is a sport that is geared towards little kids, and pre-teens, yet, when skateboards, BMX riders, and other extreme sports members see a scooter rider, that is good, they notice it. then this is were a sponsored rider such as myself can pass out stickers, or information on your product" stuff like that will show that skaters can get interested. and i know, personally, that alot of the kids in my area respect me, mainly for busting out air, and getting more than the BMXers and shit. peace.
