my girlfriend has been chill with me riding since before we were even dating or anything. i made her aware of it like when i first met her. she told me that it's fun telling people that i scooter. initial reaction from everyone else, "wow what the hell? thats gay" then she'll tell them to youtube me or whatever and they will come back like "woahh i didn't know scooters could do that!" or something. it's interesting.
