Audio-Technica ATH-M50s are the best for the money but make sure you get the M50s not the M50 unless you want a coiled cord which sucks.

So? Just cause you're not some DJ doesn't mean you don't want good sound quality. If you do get those or any higher end headphones like $100+ then you will probably want a portable amp to use with your ipod. The amp really does help but I have an old ipod nano so with a newer ipod they make work better.

You could get the just the ATH-M50 but the coiled cord is probably worse. On my ATH-M50s I just wrapped up the cord using a zip tie and now it doesn't get in the way with being so long.

They are made by Monster which is infamous for dressing up a decent product and marketing it like it's some ground breaking shit associated with it's large price tag (again making people assume it must be amazing, which ironically gets people to spend the money.) It's trendy bullshit and every douchebag has them because he thinks they are such great headphones. I mean, they were on commercial and have Dre endorsing them, and they look fucking cool, and they are bassy, so ----- why not spend a fuckton because they must be amazing. It's irritating because people who are truly into better sounding music and use headphones instead of ear buds get questioned about their "beats" and you have to listen to retards run their mouth about them. It's irritating because everyone was so used to seeing ear buds, then Beats were the first set of headphones to truly advertise themselves so people started to buy them particularly instead of a better cheaper brand. God, I fucking hate Beats so much. The bass is excessively muddy, their durability is beyond shitty, and their customer return policy is awful.
