What is Style?

Like others have said, style is just the way you ride the scooter. Not just tricks, but RIDE. Every single person that rides does it with a style, it's just some people's style doesn't look as good as others. Like me for example, a lot of people used to say that I was pretty good and I had some big tricks but I just looked awkward on a scooter. Hearing that sucked pretty bad, so I left the park for a while and started riding street exclusively, because I believe that style is born in the street more than anywhere else. Then I put out a street edit and the best comments I got were ones when people said I had good style, because that's all I wanted. If you want to clean up your style, go ride around your town, and do what you think looks good and feels comfortable. People know a trick was sketchy if it felt sketchy when they landed it. Having clean style includes making your tricks and landings look smooth and effortless.

Style is something that makes me know what rider I'm watching when I don't look at the video title/description. The more style, the more distinguishable the riding is.

Andrew Brabank has some great style and he was an AZ rider :D but still he has some sketch and probably isn't the def of style. I don't think anyone is, like someone said earlier there are East Coast style riders, West Coast style, Euro and Aussie style.
A kid you guys have probably never heard of named Travis who Taylor mentioned earlier, he has some of the best style i've ever seen, everything is so clean from him, his turndowns, barspins, tailwhips, etc...

Troof. I'm still trying to figure out how he does his whips like that.

Edit: What John said about music is a good point. Although it doesn't matter when you're actually riding, it's such a big part in videos. That goes for editing too. If you have your video with gnarly metal and clips in between of you drinking and smashing stuff, it's a lot different than a video with chill music and clips in between of you doing silly stuff (guess which is me).

Style is the movement and body language you exert while riding, and how you execute certain tricks differently than others. but style goes much farther beyond that. style is who you are as a person, and how that translates into how you ride. you cannot give one specific definition to style, because it's different and unique to each and every person.

Style = whether you are...

clean/sketchy (how well your height and bars match, how clean you land your tricks, consistancy)

Park/street (whether you ride park or street more often than the other... or equally if youre a good boy.)

Tech/Big (whether you can do or ]

Yer the part about bars goes perfectly for stan.
His bars are heaps wide AND high. Not like all these kids with chodes nowadays.

The problem with your friend is...
You can have style for ANYTHING and EVERYTHING in life.
For example..
- Some people have different styles to get toast out of a toaster.
- Some people have different styles on the keyboard.
- People have different styles to the way they drink,walk,eat,sleep,breathe... Pretty much everything.

So yeah, I'm pretty sure, scooters/riders DO have style.

This dude has pretty chill style I guess, and he's pretty original. I wonder how he's doing nowadays, he hasn't released any footy since this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=rih8UjGU8Y4&fmt=18
