And wich is the stongest and the lightist coz Im gonig to start making decks for me ond other people if your interested ill send pics of a finished deck
Aircraft grade alu would be cool, tho I know for example, 2024 alu is strong but can't be welded ... tho I don't know the design and if there is something to be welded or is it all bolted...
A way to go for "buff like" bars where no welding is needed...but those two alloys can hardly be welded...even if, the weld is weak and it'll break fast...
If the design isn't involving welding, just bolting then go for 2024-T3 or 7075-T6 alu...other than that...cromoly like I sad...
if you find some aluminum that is 1/4 " thick and the same size box and the razor promodel with the flares included, and renforce the bottem and the drop outs with some chromoly you should have the strongest lightest deck you can make.... ask some people about magnesium... it is really light... but i dont know if it is strong...oh, if you are welding the neck to the deck you should have a pro weld it cuz like someone all ready said it will crack if the heat control is not preface... and aluminum is really hard to maintain a constant temp....
i would deffinantly suggest 4130 because its strong and light and you can still weld it but i would be expensive if you were going to start selling the decks
