WOW - This is some crazy shit.

First - Manufacturing
Our products have always been and always will be made in our shop here in Oregon. The scooter market is growing and that is drawing the attention of these fucking hacks in China. These same fools even tried to contact us to see if we were interested in buying our own products from them. I don't even think they realized that we ARE Phoenix!

Being in business is not easy. There is no quick buck out there and we have worked really hard to offer you riders the best designs and the best quality we can. I am committed to making Phoenix here in the USA because i care about our local economy and i want to be able to control quality instantly. For example, because i have my extrusion made in Portland, parts machined in Portland, Welded in Portland, Heat Treated in Portland, Anodized in Portland and Laser engraved in Portland; if i need to make a change or see a potential problem with something, i can deal with it that day and not one single part will be made wrong. AND, since all my workers are American and speak english, there is absolutely no breakdown in communication about stuff like, material properties, weld sequencing, heat treating, etc... I also employ only experienced skilled welders with over 20 years of experience each in building aluminum bike frames. I have listened to them when they have had suggestions about how to make our Phoenix decks even stronger.

There is NO WAY to get that level of experience and quality control by using a 3rd party Asian manufacturer. Nike, Intel, Apple, etc... ALL have either their OWN factories in Asia or they send their own American employees over there to live and work in the factories to protect the quality of their products. Even US bike companies who use Asian manufacturing have their engineers travel to the factories to ensure production lines are up to par. I would simply prefer to just make Phoenix products here in the USA and forget about that whole nightmare.

ANYONE who comes on here and spouts shit about a "reliable source" saying anything other than this is full of shit. Period.

Second - Distribution
We DO use distributors in every foreign country unless there is no distributor stepping up to the plate. In Australia - Skater HQ, UK - Skate Hut to name our 2 biggest. We have other distribution agreements in the works for other countries. I do believe in the system of setting up a distributor and letting them service the dealers in their country. We will never sell directly to the public and WE are the distributor here in the USA.

Hello Phoneix can you explain this?

Phoenix Pro Integrated Scooter Deck - £209.95 [Just a DECK]
MGP Nitro Scooter - Orange £199.95 [A whole SCOOTER]

Why are the prices in the UK so high in comparison to others?

Our Integrated decks include the brake and a FSA headset. But, the main difference is our decks are made in the USA by craftsman to precision tolerances and superb quality. The MGP is mass produced in a Chinese factory by who knows. That whole scooter costs them less to make than our deck alone costs us.

Also, we ship from our factory in the USA, they ship directly to the UK from China. The other factors would include, taxes, duties and VAT

Just to clear it up, Apex parts are Australian made, we have the Australian made logo attached to our parts to proove it.
Also for anyone wondering I will back Pheonix up, their parts are made in the US. Their prices (like Apex's) reflect the quality of workmanship. We had a look at one of those cheap China knockoffs and they are DEFINATELY NOT an original Pheonix.
MGP may make their products in China, but that is what works for them. As far as I know, they have their own factories and oversee all the work.
We need more "made in US or Australia or UK" etc products out there.
If we can overcome the pricing to get all the products into all the countries, then eventually the dollar will come into line and make it easier for everyone to get what they want at a reasonable price.
Most of us companies are not making enough to give cheaper pricing so it makes distribution to other countries hard. Add in shipping, customs duties, country taxes, etc that is why it ends up more sometimes to bring it in from another country.
Beleive me, we all want our products to cost less, but we won't compromise on quality to do it.

I will stand behind Phoenix also. I know the quality of Phoenix parts and have seen and held the Chinese ripoffs in person (Chinese company sent samples to FSP hoping to become a vendor). I could immediately tell that the decks were not genuine Phoenix parts. The dimensions and wall thicknesses were way off even though the same general Phoenix shape is there. I've also seen copycats of the Phorx with literally the exact same dimensions but in colors Phoenix doesn't sell and with terrible burrs and chips on the part. Phoenix is a good company, the Chinese copycats, well not so much.
