Why is the briflip called briflip?

brian boston was the first to land it. so ha named it the bri flip

I got myself banned.
I posted up a clip of it, didn't really know what it was, and people started calling it a briflip. I think Steven T might have been the one that came up with the name, it was too long ago to remember though.

it was between that and a ninja kick or whip or something.. bri is cooler so thats the name that stuck. its good <3

I don't have it anymore, someone else might. The clip I posted of it was reallllly off axis and it didn't really look like the ones everyone does today. The first briflip i ever did is in Twizted 3 out of a mini ramp to flat at woodward skatepark.

First briflip ever, I have suggested that the name could be 'Boston whip', since this, as any kind of a briflip, is just a tweaked tailwhip motion, but that name wasn't approved, haha.

The first real bri flip, from Twizted 3.

I believe that there were some riders doing bris before Brian. Kenny Giguere does them in Anarky 2 but doesn't really land them, and whenever there's a debate on who landed some trick first, there's also Matt Pate, who always argues that he or one of his unknown buddies have landed a particular trick before anyone else but didn't tell anyone.

Haha, briflips aren't really old as a trick anyway. The first clip in that post was released in June 2005, it's just the widespread popularity of the trick, caused by it's easy execution and 'cool' looks, that makes it seem an old trick.

That wasn't the first one, but that was a nice one :) Kenny didn't do them before me, we used to ride together.

I think the first one i did was in March 04, but i didn't release anything till around June... so yeah.

Yea i remember all the controversy over that trick...no one knew what it was, or what was going on..lol..But yea, A few names got tossed around, and i think i threw in Bri flip...and i guess it jes stuck...Brian i dont think gets enough credit for coming up with what i think is one of the most popular tricks in the past year or so.

totally dude. it was the "I love kenny Owens" in the your invented tricks thread. tailwhip to late "I love kenny owens" as It turned out it already had a name and danny warwick could do "I love kenny owens" to opp "I love kenny owens" to "I love kenny owens" pretty good by then
