How about this...shut the fuck up. Honestly. Get over yourself. God damn it I hate so much how people that "used to ride before it sucked" always come on here and start bitching and moaning about how scootering is so much different now. No, it isn't. Not unless you make it different. If you're riding for fun and riding for yourself, it will never be different. Stop worrying about what other people do, stop caring about the little kids and whatever and be grateful for what we have. 3 years ago, the best scooter you could have was a Pro mod, that was a rattly piece of shit that would break in a week. There was NO aftermarket. Now you're complaining because we have all these awesome parts available to us so easily, just because the companies aren't rider-owned? How fucking arrogant could you be, dude.

Scootering isn't dumb now because it's changing, it's dumb because people like you care so much about the "scene" and that it's changing, that you quit because of it. That's what's really fucking dumb.

I remember when I was the only rider in my local too. I was literally the only kid I ever saw there on a scooter. People would go ape shit when I landed a double whip. Now it's progressing to the point that every so often, some kids with Ultra Pros or MGPs will come in and there's some little kids who will bring skate boards and scooters in. But I have more fun now than I did back then because I don't care about that. I remember back then, with my Ultra Pro v1, trying the dumbest tricks all day, not being able to land anything, and thinking about quitting all the time. Well I finally progressed to the point that I can have fun with my riding and not just do the same line over and over again, and I'll be damned if I'm gonna let some little shits with MGPs influence how much fun I have when I ride.

These threads complaining are just jealousy of the fact that being part of the scene is no longer like being part of an elite club.

I personally think it was more fun a few years back too.. just thinking back to 06-07 the first few TIC comps, damn near every single person in the sport was friends it seemed like, going to contests you knew everyone so it was a super fun time, now at contests its 5% people I know, 95% randoms. There's some real awesome, original, chill people still riding and just getting into it, but I kinda enjoyed it more before the scene got so huge. I could live with the shitty bolted rattly scooters because at least then it wasn't about getting that new maddgear complete, it was more about who genuinely just loved riding and would tolerate a hunk of shit scooter.

i tried riding a stock pro mod for awhile thinking i would have as much fun as i used to, but i realized it was just the atmosphere and the community that i loved so much.
