Windows movie maker problems

Anyone use windows movie maker? I made like 5 vids with it and now whenever I try to drag and drop a clip it stops responding. Anyone have or have had this problem or know how to fix it?

id say bring your computer to a computer store and tell them whats going on so they can fix it. or spend the same amount of money and buy sony vegas.

Have you bee having any problems with your computer running slow? It could be because you had some adware and spyware on there. Goto downloads.com and type in AdAware, its by lavasoft, give it a run, restart, and see if it works. If not maybe you should look into getting your computer reformatted, or i think you can like reinstall windows and keep your data.

im having problems to
i made a video in another program but when i try to put it on that it says it is not a supported file type then i do wat it says and it is still wrong. does n e one no wat the short form for imovie becasue that is wat i made it on but none of those it showed me worked. i mean by short form by like how at the end of a windows movie maker project you have a period and it says something .mov or .dv but i need the one for imovie becasue i made it on a mac but i need that code.

1) I import a video from my videos as usual and at the bottom of the screen there's a strand where you drag and drop your imported clips. When I drag and drops my imported clip it freezes and when I hit ctrl+alt+dlt it says progran not responding.


My comp hasnt been acting slow lately and I think I have a blocker for that stuff anyway. I've been told by others to reformat or reinstall but I dont think it's worth it just to get the movie maker working again, I was just wondering if there was a simpler fix.

Yes you can..basically it just makes a bunch of pictures out of the clip/vid (its a pain in the ass)

here are all the formats you can export{save} to in iMovie HD (im on my mac right now, not sure if its the same with just regular iMovie)

same here, but then i got a new camera and it got slow all of the sudden, i clicked save to my computer and it said it would take 2000 minutes. wtf!!! now i have to put my camera in the low quality shit mode and it still takes forever.

check task manager and see what processes you have running while movie maker is running..chances are something else it running and using alot of your CPU.

processes, not tasks. if theres anything taking up alot of cpu usage and memory that isnt necessary then you can end it. but if you dont know what you should and shouldnt kill, i dont suggest even going in there.

yes, eric is right.
ctrl + alt + delete --> processes
then find things that start with hp, if you have an hp printer, then move on to itunes helper and ipod service, right click and hit end process tree, and that will help speed it up

also, how do you get WMM2?

i tried that today... i think windows hates me ever since i messed with the registry to make it faster (is that overclocking?)

overclocking is done in the bios..and you cant do that unless you have unlocked bios (aka computer you built yourself, custom gaming computer..not name brand computers)

what does it say when you try to download the update?

and like Eric said..don't just go into task manager and start killing processes. Just check and see what is using the most cpu. If you know what the process is and you don't need it running then you can kill it.

check for these..they are common spyware processes:

if you find these you should end the process and then run a spyware check (ad aware, spybot S&D, etc.)
