I never really had any problems with windows... i mean its easy, theres SO MUCH software for it, and if you have some proper virus protection installed (NOD32=win) and don't use IE6 (Firefox=win) its actually awesome. You can always upgrade parts too unlike macs. Macs security isn't better, hackers just don't attack macs for some reason.

If i needed a new computer just to use an not to edit... i'd rather build a top of the line PC for $600 rather than buying a Mac for $2000+ (don't bring up mini macs)

lol funny. I don't need vista or anything really, regular XP is good enough for me. Haha, I'm a poet and i didn't even know it.

Havent used vista yet myself but im getting it sometime soon here for free..probably put it either on this computer or my backup computer (seeing as in how i have 4 pcs and a Mac laptop) so I dont care if it dosent work. In my opinion macs are better for security just because you dont need virus protection or anything like that..it just works(lol). As for hackers not attacking macs its because (what ive heard from my comp. essentials teacher) the code and everything with OSX is harder to hack and they dont feel like taking the time to hack it when they can just mess up windows 10x more. so yea. Also you can upgrade macs (ram, hd's, video cards, sound cards, etc.) just not the actual processor.

http://www.zdnet.com.au/news/securi...under_30_minutes/0,130061744,139241748,00.htm Its gotta be easily hackable if someone can gain root access in under 30 minutes... its just not a big target for some reason.

hmm..o well, I was just going by what my teacher told me.

Participants were given local client access to the target computer
-and that has a big part in it too..if someone has local client access then its alot easier to hack into the machine.

I'm pretty sure that means that they were just on the same LAN. And still, hackers are wild, im sure if they wanted to they could setup some crazy ass worm on OSX easily.
