Wisdom teeth.

Im getting my wisdom teeth taken out next thursday, right in the middle of my spring break -_-

Ive never had any surgerys or stitches before haha. So can anyone whos had theirs taken out tell me what to expect? Like pain afterwards, what kind of crap they had to eat, and how long it took your mouth to feel normal again.

The first 2 days after you get them removed is the worst. After that it's not too bad, but it's still not dandy feeling. I can't really remember how long it took for my mouth to feel normal again but it wasn't that long. A week at the minimum and two weeks at the most. As for eating, the first night I had some mashed potatoes that I kinda slurped down and a bit of steak. For solid foods I had to eat small amounts and chew with my front teeth slowly because opening and closing my jaw was limited from pain and swelling. Chewing with your front teeth is an absolute BITCH! Especially when you're hungry and you want to eat a lot. Other than that it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be and before you know it it'll be done and over with. Some last words of advice. Don't ride. The vibrations and impacts from jumping and such will hurt. While they're operating on you don't be afraid to tell them you need more anesthesia if you still feel pain. My dentist was more than happy to shoot my gums with the most powerful anesthetic he had and he gladly turned up the NOS (Hehe if they give you NOS, which they should, don't fall asleep! It'll be very relaxing and euphoric and you'll find yourself feeling... different . Finally, your dentist will prescribe you about 15 vicodin and an antibiotic. Save the vicodin and sell it to make some extra money or have some fun and take 2 or so at a time (the pain shouldn't be that bad that you need them. Well, maybe the first day it might.). Make sure to take the antibiotic so you don't get an infection and whatever you do DON'T SMOKE and BREATHE THROUGH YOUR NOSE. That should be about it. If I think of anything else I'll let ya know.

Haha, thats pretty sick for a day after.

Yeah, I didnt really plan on riding. My one friend said it hurt when her even just went down the stairs too fast haha. Ill definitely not be riding for probably at least a week, then just take it easy and flow around for maybe another week.
Im just a bit nervous because Ive never had stitches or anything like this done before. Ive broken all kinds of bones, had all kinds of nice cuts and gashes, but never had stitches. And the idea of anesthetics freak me out for some reason haha.
