modern metal sucks. its not real metal. OLD metallica, megadeth, slayer, maiden, pantera. now that is metal. not the pussy screamo shit nowdays. like bullet for my valentine, and shitty bands like that. they suck

I agree with you guys it is hard to find good metal now. Metallica, Pantera, and Maiden are all amazing! I am just asking people not to bash an entire genre because they don't like the way it sounds. And I second any Disney artist or Nick artist.

I also do not want to argue because as I heard someone once say, " Arguing on the internet is like the special olympics. You may win but you are still retarded." (I do not mean to make fun of people with special needs.)

but i will admit, i do like BFMV and a pretty good amount of new metal. but nothing will ever beat the old stuff like metallica (old stuff), maiden (my favorite), kreator, testament, pantera, helloween, the old school metal.

horrible bands: any of these disney channel fags, britney spears (idk if shes a "band", but artist), and for some reason i HATE def leppard (<-- jst my opinion)

Just listen to it, at first you wont like it but it grows on ya. Then one day at school you'll just be like "i wanna listen to so and so" lol thats how it grew on me
Trivium and stuff like thats is ehh alright to say the least.

^ Spot on. I always hated these new "br00tal" death metal bands. I just can't take them seriously. They all sound EXACTLY the same to me. I would much rather listen to an experienced educated musician that can play with rythm style and puts soul into it than some kid doing 9,069 bpm's on his drums while some other kids plays some repetitive palm muted riff on their guitar. that's just my opinion.

Jonas Brothers
Nickelback
Amos Lee

Those can be placed into this category. IWABO has their good moments so to list them is crazy. Tastes like Kevin Bacon is a legit song. But yeah it is all opinion, but to say that a band is worse than Jonas Brothers is saying alot..

Just think about it. When he wrote his 5th symphony he was a bitter angry old man. Metal is usualy bitter angry people. The emotions that come through in alot of classicalmusioc is anger and hatred and things like that. Alot of the composers were also depressed angry and mad at society.

Modern metal does not suck. MAINSTREAM modern metal sucks. there's so many good European Metal Bands out there right now especially, like Children of Bodom and Firewind. There's WAY more shredding guitarists out there now too then there were in the '80s. In my opinion, I think any band with talent should be respected. Im not into super progressive metal with tons of time/key changes and stuff but I respect it because what they do is unbelievably difficult. Bands like the JONAS BROTHERS are the only ones who can be considered the worst band out there because they actually are untalented.
