XT Headtube Design Fault

I honestly thought the XT would be a chance for micro to become more popular and more people to ride micros.
I was wrong.
Micro's really do suck.

rhys took his back to shq, got a gen instead, and on the gen he got some mad faulty 110 mm eagle that died heaps quickly, it was mega soffft, he hasnt had a chance to take it back yet but we think they wont except it
thats the gay shit right there

Sorry for this way of replying again it's just less effort

@arandomperson: They put an arrow because like all stock forks they bend hahaha! no, i honestly don't know because the forks are like identical on both sides.

@Nick: again i'd go back to my old sprite re-inforced anyday. It took ages to break and when it did it was the forks that bent too far. (I'd be upgrading them anyway if you get what i mean). But a re-inforced Sprite Deck costs £100, and i got severely underpaid this month.

Cheers Brian.

Cheers Geordie Mac, i only wish it wasn't so much effort to contact them. If they were UK based i'd be sitting on their doorstep right now.

Just to keep you guys updated, no reply from micro yet.

hi for the user who started the tread who from micro have you emailed just micro extreme

email this person hp.bolliger@micro.ms there the CEO of micro in uk, he should deal with these broken tubes, as now this yeah 4th one ive seen, 1 i broke myself testing a old version of the XT before there were realesed to the public

I didn't get it from UK because they've screwed me before (by leaving junk on their catalog that they no longer stocked). I got it straight from micro-xtreme because i've never had problems with them before.

And thanks SOA i'm going to e-mail them now. Great help. It's so annoying that they can't have actually recalled like they should have.

Cheers,
Jamey

Mine and my friends one also broke exactly there. But our local where were sponsored and where we got it from ordered the new reinforced ones and they'll get them for free, so i think its fair.

They didn't do it on purpose because the new XTs include the new headtube. Sucks though. i hope i can get a replacement for free cus i'm gonna be pissed if i have to pay for a break after a month and a half.

Every scooter has something that breaks..

they should just get a box and weld it around the whole scooter it would suck but it would be strong

lol
jst kidding but srsly every scooter will break somewhere

yep i have done that twice but didnt bother to actully ride it till it snaps
lol

It didn't crack, or show any sines of "oh fuck i'ma snap". I was just riding like normal and it snapped clean. Takes the piss.

And yeah i agree every scooter has something that will snap, but you woulnd't expect it to after a month(if it cost you £200) and you'd expect something to be done about it(which has been done but not recalled etc.)

Aluminium snaps, that's how the metal is...doesn't bend, but snap...
So yeah, hod did they exactley reinforce the new headtubes, how are they different, as far as I've seen it's just a different angle...did I miss something?

Yeah i know that and they know that but it was the design of the headtube that was faulty. Not the materials.

and the new headtube is apparently re-inforced inside between the welds and the part where everyones snapping them. Which apparently solves the snapping problem. Which i see as admitting that their last design was flawed.

EDIT:

The angle is reinforced inside ! it's more strong than normal xt angle

Found it on the MX store...sucks pretty much...but o well, once you get a strong headtube, your deck will crack, don't worry...
Mine has a crack in the welds already, switched to my bullet again...instead of the XT, micro should sell a reinforced bullet with Fernando style plates...seems much better :)
Good luck with the XT man...

Cheers for the luck. I'm sick of how micro are right now. But if it screws up again i'll just save for a month or so and buy a Sprite re-inforced deck (i'm buying all aftermarket parts so all that will be micro on my scoot will be the deck. And i honestly used to adore my sprite re-inforced.

Oh and Fernando style plates? (Sorry i sound uubernoob now but i've been out of it for a while so i'm a bit behind with the times). haha =]

The plates that repalce the stock sprite foldy. Like just aluminum plates that are drilled out. I'll try and find a ]http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb243/Coryv123/SOTM1-1.jpg[/IMG]

Oh yeah sorry, haha yeah i've seen them, they're really interesting, but i never had problems with my re-inforced sprite plates so i quite like the idea of a new Sprite re-inforced deck. I dunno i think Micro should scrap the Xt, it's only been bad publicity for them. Still a nice go at it.

And yeah it'd be brilliant to see that plate design taken in by Micro =]. but i doubt we will see it(and if we did it'd be ages in the future).
