Losing control of wour perception of reality or altering your consciousness is the easiest thing you can do to show that you dont actually value life. People that are pleasure seekers do not feel the same happiness that people do who actually have something to "celebrate". Happiness is earned through living as a human being which involves following one's nature and to be abe to think to be able to percieve reality. This thread can be settled. Doing drugs shows your lack of self estem as a person, and shows you don't value your life. You cannot claim that you want to enjoy yuor life by not actually living the way that it is supposed to be lived.

Are you serious

I enjoy life. You know, goin and seeing a good movie makes me happy. Getting stoned out of my mind and going to see the movie usually makes the movie like 500x better.

I achieve happiness by getting fuckingg wasted out of my mind with my friends or getting high as a kite and playing board games all night, these things make me happy. Chemicals make the situation alot better.

This post is the biggest bunch of bullshitt i have ever read. I feel like i just walked out of church.

You don't be stupid about it. If you know a drug test is coming up for something. Whether it be a job or school, or anything. You don't smoke weed for a month, it's not that hard. Marijuana is not an addicting drug. It's been proven.
Have you ever had a job? Random drug tests, you can't do nothing about them.

well in case you haven't already wandered out of your sheltered little world and noticed, reality sucks at least half the time. I'm pretty sure every one of us at one point in our life has thought to themselves something like "wow, this situation I'm in really sucks" or "I'm fucking bored as shit right now" or "these 2-week old pizza bagels taste like asshole". And that is where alcohol and drugs come in. They are merely ways in which you can enhance the situation you're in in whatever way. So really wouldn't it kinda make more sense to instead of dealing with life's shitty little downers 100% of the time, why not deal with them you know, like 50% of the time? Doing drugs doesn't mean you don't value your life, rather it means that you think about life realistically and try to improve it as much as you can.

I feel it's the opposite, someone who loves life would want to take advantage of all the opportunities and possibilities it throws at you.

Just going to post some ]http://www.erowid.org/experiences/subs/exp_LSD_Glowing_Experiences.shtml[/url]

People have life-changing experiences through the responsible use of psychoactives.

http://www.thedailybeast.com/blogs-and-stories/2009-08-19/is-lsd-good-for-you/

LSD/Psilocybin being used to treat suicide headaches and frequent migraines.

http://www.erowid.org/experiences/subs/exp_MDMA_Health_Benefits.shtml

Firsthand accounts of MDMA having health benefits, of course there's research done on it, but what's better than firsthand accounts?

I don't even know where to start with the health benefits of weed, there's so many and so much research out there.

Beyond health benefits and focusing purely on recreational value, if people want to try stuff, why is that bad and why should we have a problem with it? Does somebody else shooting up affect your health? Of course addiction can be scary with family members/loved ones, but putting other people down because they take a curious attitude towards the world is stupid.

I'm not advocating the use of drugs and I'm not saying being edge is stupid, I'm merely saying 95% of what you know about drugs is entirely, entirely wrong and through a bit of research you'll be able to break through that DARE bullshit. If you read up and still decide it's not for you, awesome, no need to make others feel worthless though.

dude i think you could not be more wrong because how do you know how life is supposed to be lived? Our perception of reality has been shaped by society and by the use of drugs like lsd we can escape what society has trained us to see and see everything. A lot of people including me believe that newborn baby's see something like what you see when you're tripping because their minds haven't been fucked up yet

^^^ i'm assuming you linked to the "about drugs" topic, but it's taking me to the forums so i'm not sure.

i don't really understand why we can't have a respectable conversation about things on drugs on here, but since i'm a moderator i still have to enforce the rules. i'm taking that rule as more of a don't post how much you love drugs and who does what drugs type of thread, but talking about the straight-edge movement and the science behind drugs seems perfectly fine to me. if another mod objects, lock it. but i think that much moderation is just stupid and detrimental to a forum. if people can't be respectful and have a good conversation, warn/ban them. it seems like these rules always come about and the rationale is always "the general population can't handle conversation about stuff like that and gets too immature". i think that's just stupid, instead of making pointless rules that make shit boring around here let's just get rid of the guys that can't have a decent conversation. having a discussion about drugs on the internet doesn't make you subject to being shut down or sued or something, i take it nobody here has seen bluelight, drugs-forum, dmtnexus, undrugged, researchchemical.net, etc. you can talk about drugs on the internet, just be careful about self-incrimination and you have absolutely nothing to worry about.

there's my rant, i'm just sick of coming on here every week or two and seeing the same exact threads over the same bullshit. we need to have better, more intelligent conversation on here. maybe make a new topic for it, but whatever, that's my rant.

if anybody has questions about psychoactives/the straight-edge movement, ask them here, use this place as a tool for learning.
