stan, your cam isn't digital so you can't put it on your PC without an analog to digital capture device. if you are going to get one of those, i would go for a plextor one, they are pretty good.

unless it is a Digital8 camcorder or MiniDV, it will not work without an analog to digital converter.

i said unless. stan told me he has a Hi8 camera. that is not a digital format. you would need an analog to digital converter in which you plug in the yellow red white cords into the card, and it sends the analog video into the converter which then, using your video editor, turns the signal into a digital feed for the capture, turning the ANALOG video into DIGITAL video. converters are kind of expensive though, i would just buy a miniDV camera.

If you are talking about Josh Toy it is D8 not Hi8... and I'm pretty sure feebletailwhip is right... analog cameras don't send a digital signal... they need some kind of converter unless you have a video in card.

just use dazzle thats what i use and thats what 90% of the footage in my mini video was made off of. the reason y the quality is bad is just because it was compressed alot

yeah josh toy has a digital8 and you can get a pinnacle card but they are really buggy or like i said a plextor or stuff. go to www.videomaker.com and find stuff. i am pretty confident that i am right stan.

Isnt a tv tuner card needed to capture analog video to a computer? And Stan, better find someone with a digital cam to tape you, because if you capture it to edit it the quality will suck so bad (unless having a super expensive converter). I think that old NBS vids were taped with an analog camera and thats why the quality sucks so bad. Analog cams are good if ur about to tape your dads barbecue party and then plug it to your fat ass tv and play it, but for editing it on a comp its poop.
