well the reason that most of the riders are younger is, as many have said, because it is a new sport. the first bikers and skaters were all young kids too. and these young kids get older. for example the older riders of this generation. the little kids now will get older. and there are always more little kids riding every year. so eventually there will be a large group of older riders. we then MAY be respected.

Not to sound cocky but I pretty much run my local park, so it's not the actual riders that are good it's the stereotypes that make people think scooters are gay.
A prime example is when you go to walmart and see the A-models with the little kids on them.
Bottom line, there is people who shred on bikes, scooters, skateboards, snowboards just about every extreme sport regardless of their age.
Just ride your whip and stfu.

Little kids ride them because they can, i'l explain.
Little kids cant balance on skateboard, or ollie, or drop in etc.
Little kids cant ride bikes because there ------ they cant jump anything or stall etc.
Scooters are easy to just get on, and ride.
They can drop in quarters by putting there foot down and basicaly walking down it.
There lighter so little kids can do incy bunnyhops and call themselves legends.
They can jump shit and go up ramps but cant do anything or just land with a foot down.
There just generally easy to ride. And everyone else has one. Haha.
