On my PC yes...that up there is my laptop...long battery life, low performance and mostly internet use :) And for that...it's perfect...just the address bar missing in the start bar :)

FreeBSD isnt trash, maybe you didnt know how to set it up? FreeBSD in my opinion ( since i have done kernel commits) is the best Unix OS, it complies to POSIX moreso than most, making it extremely compatible.

and netbsd and freebsd do not have much in common, at the base they are both BSD, but that code hasnt been around in 15 years, Freebsd was design to only run on x86 platforms, and to run very well on them, netbsd was designed to run on any platform, actually it currently runs on about 60 i think, but because of this, netbsd is much more simple (not easy, simple) than freebsd.

I'm interested in why you think FreeBSD is trash, I'm a very big advocate of it.

I've just heard someone say that before, haha. I don't know much about BSD, so, yeah...
well sadly those people hate on it because it doesnt hold your hand like ubuntu linux or windows.
all operating systems are difficult at the core, it just depends on how they are setup before hand.
MAC uses the FreeBSD userland( the OS except the kernel) and parts of the kernel.
mac is just pre-installed and setup to mask its rugged interior, freebsd is a make-it-what-you-want kind of OS.

Side-note: i have a bittersweet opinion on apple, i mean, they commit back to freebsd which is good, the also commit to KDE, because webkit was originaly theirs( for the most part).
but they dont make it easy for the FreeBSD to use the code, because they dont really ever explain what they are doing.
sorry, im always very eager to rant about this.

I got myself banned.
I dislike OSX, and how they are associated with video/photo editing. If any people cared whats under the hood of a mac, they would realize they get ripped the fuck off when they buy one. You can build an amazing PC, or hackintosh, for half the price of a new mac and a copy of windows+osx, prolly.

Fuckk snow leopard, shit should be free, like a windows service pack. Windows releases a service pack as their "oops shit was fuckked up, heres the fix, my bad". Apple is like "we didn't make that good enough the first time, so here pay $30 to make your over priced machine run faster, thanks for sinking more money into our shithole, fanboy"

yea, the price isnt terrible if you legitimatley bought the software thats on it, but a copy of OSX isnt that much, the drivers for a mac are usually good though, because of the limited support for hardware that OSX has, this is what makes OSx86 a hit and miss, I have my conspiracy theories about Windows, but so do most people with my level of knowledge( dont mean to sound cocky)
but yes, its a faddish OS, people only buy them to be cool and different, atleast that says good things about their marketing strategy. they play on the fact that computer consumers are idiots nowadays, 20 years ago, nobody would buy either honestly, DOS wasnt so bad, but thats before MicroSoft had a monopoly on OS's, similiar to razor, their "upgrades" arent quite what they appear to be.
