i'm planning on taking off the edges, i honestly just ran out of time today. i'll be sure and post a few more pics after its complete. also--if anyone is interested, i am able to make these relatively inexpensively, and can drill the holes for the bar downtube and steerer tube for the forks to any size, to avoid the need for shims.

i did, i drilled a 1 1/8" hole all the way through the 4" block, and drilled 1 1/4" hole 2" down from the top to accomodate my bars while creating the step necessary for the top compression bolt for my forks.
