not really home made but i took my deck to work and milled a vent down the center of my deck, surprisingly, makes the scooter much lighter overall than i would have anticipated such a small amount of aluminum making. so far, strength seems uncompromised.

thank you. and if i decide to get rid of my deck pins and grip the scoot, id cut those vents out not cover em over haha, that would look real hard IMO

I had the idea of pop rivets ages ago.
They make deck pins with the pins that are in BMX pedals, you can buy like whole bags of them from sites like danscomp.
Search for a tut on how to put them in.

how do you make deck pins?

your best bet is to purchase some set screws, check a tapping conversion chart to find out what drill size you need to the size set screw you select, drill your holes in your deck and tap them so you can thread the pins into your deck. Toss a little loctite on your pins and you're good to go
