You get charged extra for bringing foreign items into the country?
I'm in Australia and have never been charged extra, is it a UK thing?

Don't know but we get charged a 20% tax of the total (part and shipping) over £35 pounds if brought in from ouside the EU the US have the same for us and think the Uk and china maybe india do the same unsure though. So for Retros v2 it like $75 dollars plus $35 shipping = $120 = £77
£77 - £35 before tax allowance = £43
120% of £43 = £51
51 - 43 = 8
77 + 8 = £85

That's whack, now I know why so many UK kids complain about how expensive it is to buy American stuff and get it shipped to them haha
I buy most of my parts from USA because it's significantly cheaper, even if a retailer in Aus has the same part. Example, I bought my Rivers for 96 bucks including shipping from the US, it cost me a little more than 96 because of the exchange rate but they cost 120 in Aus plus another 15 if you need shipping
