Joe, which GS is that? By the way, save yourself some wrist strain. Just use the mic as a handle and take off the xgrip, unless you like them. I personally hate the way they hold.

A gs150, and I'd rather use the handle than use the mic since the mic isn't attached to the mount that goes into the cold shoe. It'll pop out.

Expect some footage by January third.

Well none of my friends are any good with cameras so all my filmers are shitty. And then the whole dealing with tapes thing, eh I don't know. I might just get a cheap HD cam and use both. I sent you some footy on fb to show you what I mean haha.

Its 1000x easier haha but you wont get all the colors you would with HD. If your just going to get one to have along side your camera now just get a Sanyo FH-1

That might be one of the stupidest things I have ever read. It isn't like HD finds colors SD doesn't. A VX,DVC,DVX and many other SD cameras have more dynamic colors than a 7D, fact. 7D has 1 censor, so all colors are picked up by that one censor, while a VX has 3 sensors, so each censor picks up a certain range of colors, which allows the camera to pick up colors more accurately.
