That thread has been around for years. Establishing rules on it now makes no sense. If someone is truly interested in seeing higher quality photos, surely they would be more attracted towards a thread defined by its higher quality over the other, albeit more popular thread.
Simply look at the name, "Riding pictures" by definition it's simply "pictures of riding" not "high quality pictures" or "low quality pictures", just "pictures" Which is what it will remain regardless of any conversation that happens here.
If you keep the hypothetical "Riding photography" thread bumped and people who are interested in it constantly post their newly captured photos (there are many good photographers on the forum so it shouldn't be too hard to do this.) it would remain on the front page and easily viewable alongside the current thread, which would do exactly as you want it to do, inspire people to do more high quality shooting instead of screen grabs. In the end it really depends on the viewer. There's lazy asses like me who screencap because we don't want to buy/have access to good cameras, and there are people who take more pride in their shooting than I do (and many others) who do have the cameras and abilities to shoot higher quality photos. The two threads will be defined by these two factors of people, Screencappers/Lazy people and photographers.
Saying I'm power tripping because you won't get your way is laughable. I give a lot of people many chances, I'm very lax with banning and infractions as of late and I don't "power trip". I'm as chill as I can be without people going a muck here.
I simply don't see the point in separating low quality from a thread that is already established (with many pages of lower quality photos.) instead of starting fresh and making the new thread. "Alright, we have one thread filled with ----- lets stop that and make a new thread for them to post shit in" I understand the mentality, but it just doesn't make as much sense as making a new thread for high quality pictures.
What are you going to do? Post in the current thread like, "Past this post, only good quality pictures may be posted, Aaron has spoken!" That isn't happening.
This isn't even a big deal. My goodness.
