I don't recommend doing it that way but it does work if you are careful and make sure the bolt is screwed in all the way so the threads are bottomed out. If the bolt is loose in the threads then hammering will destroy it so it is kind of risky. It also help to SLIGHTLY pre-bend the flanges...

If you made bars and you have to reinforce them then you didn't make them right. There shouldn't even be such a thing as reinforcing parts if people would learn how to build stuff and that goes for Razor and Micro too.

Stock bars don't even "bend and snap off" with out tons of abuse so they either don't know what they are doing or are using the worst material ever. I'm not saying aluminum bars will be stronger than 4130 BUT they will be plenty strong enough for 90% of the people out there and a lot lighter...
