It's because raw parts usually at least have a finish. When you raw a part, you are stripping it of any protection.

I have found the cool frats here at Georgia but they are far and few. I'm sure it's great if it's in your blood or you have a lot of money, but I have neither of those. It's just not my lifestyle.
