plastic strength vs. metal strength is unbelievable in this thread.. holy shit. Why not just make a socket peg? it's only ounces heavier and.. much stronger.. most pegs don't bend, they shatter (plastic) or the bolt bends.

anything that fits and is cheap. look for non integrated and sealed is normally a plus. FSA pig Cane creek series SARS headsets all fine headsets

You need #7! without that the bearings just spin on the fork! Install that. i use a hammer but it's all up to you haha. Seriously though. Also grease is always good for a headset

Bars are supposed to compress the headset using ICS. I suggest blue locktite so it doesn't fall out. You can buy compression bolts off of people or DSA or.. anywhere that sells ICS kits.

I have an awful idea i want to test. put some HIC Tubing over some regular sized bars and just.. bolt it on .. haha. then use the cut off piece of 1-1/4th bar tubing as the shim... might work?
