not really, its just the pro ones are stronger. the old a foldy's tend to bend easier. a lot of people say they are weaker, but i think there pretty strong.
pros have stronger foldy mechs. they are thicker.
old a's have less ground clearance, the back dropouts where the rear wheel goes are bent upward.
pro's use extended rear axles instead of short front axles for rear wheels.

but the threads are aluminum and weak, so they will strip really easy. thats the bad part about them. make them threadless and get a ghetto inverted compression system on them and your set.
