I made a profile at Tanners house and I shouted at a chicken and the dude that follows you around and helps you just started beating the shit out of it and went on a killing spree. Funniest thing ever.

So my friend was basically on my shit every time I would play Skyrim because I couldn't kill people as easily as he could. He would apparently kill everybody super fast with his daggers and kill dragons in like 3 hits and shit. I was like dude, no way. Are you sure you're playing on Adept and not Novice? And for the longest time he would say yeah, of course. Well the other night I called him out on it and when he went to his settings, he was playing on Novice. LOL.

Anyways, finally got to level 50. I haven't even done the main quest yet but I did basically everything else except the Dark Brotherhood. At 130ish hours right now.

Yeah I'm level 41 too. I have a legendary daedric bow which I've managed to get up to 98 damage and haven't perked out the extra damage perk either. And 10 fire damage.

Tip for upgrading armor/weapons (helps TONS with special armor and weapons, such as Nightingale)

Enchant a necklace, ring, bracers, and hood/helmet with Fortify Smithing (only ones you can put that enchantment on). I just used a gold necklace, silver ring, and leather gauntlets and helmet, cheaper and lighter the better since it will only be for this purpose. This will give you at least 32% better (depends on your Enchantment skill) as long as you use black soul gems to enchant with. Then, find a Blacksmith's Elixir, which gives you an extra 50% smithing for 30 seconds.

Equipping all your smithing fortification items and then using the Blacksmith's Elixir right before you upgrade weapons/armor will give you whatever percent you have in Enchantments above your current level (which should be at 100 to get any use out of this), and then 50% of your overall level on top. Using this method I was even able to upgrade my Daedric weapons, which were already Legendary, another 20-30% in damage. My Nightingale armor was upgraded from Flawless to Legendary as well.

why do some of you guys keep lying? the overall level cap is 81, and the skill level cap is 100. so NO you dont have well over 100 in smithing....

Don't try to condescend on me, I'm not lying. Skill levels "max" out at 100 but you can still progress past that. That's the reason why Daedric artifacts and lots of special armor/weapons can only be upgraded to Flawless if you're at level 100. If I recall correctly, upgrading the Nightingale armor to Legendary requires a smithing skill of approximately 160. This is also the reason why the method I used in my above post works. Go ahead and try it.
