Boo freecoasters, cassettes are so much better. I don't think people should get freecoasters unless they have fakies completely on dial. Even then, fakies look a lot better with back pedaling.

I have to say that I love Ian Schwartz, Bruce Crisman and Karl Poynter a ton. Ian Schwartz most, he just pulls it off super smooth, and he's been riding one for ages, a lot of other people just don't use them well, it's hard to describe.

they dont break as easy, there wayyyy cheaper, they start to pedal right when you want them to. freecoasters have slack. which means that when you pedal it takes a quarter or half crank for them to start pedaling. but if your not into freecoasters watch Chase Dehart and that new Dakoda Roche kid on fit. they both ride like they have one but they dont.

On a cassete, fakie manuals have like a built-in brake. Back-pedal slow and you are almost holding a brake down.

Free wheels only go down to like 13 or 14 tooth, so they lack there. I think cassette can go to 11 before you need a one piece driver, which still ends up being cassette style. Also, on a normal cassette, the gears are a lot easier to change. I know that is why they are mostly used for racing.
