My user name is pretty gay... But I'm Nick Darger, and I've been going on this forum since 2005..

So I've been working at Scooter Zone for 3 years now. And I gotta say we have definately come a long way. We started as a 1 person company and from there have grown to 4 stores and 16 employees. Up until the beginning of this year the owner ran all the online stuff. Computer work, product descriptions, inventory, handling customers about orders, ect. Which was fine for a while. But over the past year and a half the company has grown tremendously, and so has the owners workload.

At the beginning of the year i took over most of that. I print the work, divide it among me and my crew, answer phones, track orders, pretty much everything to do with the online side of buisness. Except print shipping labels and handle the paypal/money side of things. And of course I handle the retail side of things as well.

I try my best to handle I as best as I can. I have 4 employees that work under me and I gotta say we are pretty efficient. But I would be lying if I said we were perfect. One of our biggest flaws is fixing our mistakes. Most of the time that goes through the owner, and like I said above he is constantly busy. So the message doesn't always get passed down to me and my guys when it should. Is that a valid excuse and a reason for you all to stop hating? No it isn't, its a flaw that we work on daily at improving.

We do all of our shipping out of our riverside location, and since we have 4 stores we are constantly distributing products to our other stores. Me and my crew and checking stock and adjusting the site constantly. And we take 2 full inventories every week, but even then it isn't enough, and we still oversell at times. I try my best to keep on top of that stuff, and contact the customers as soon as I can

Last week we just shipped our 10,000th order. And for those of you complaining about how we mess up everyones order, that's a big exaggeration. There was probly about 10 to 15 different users who all had valid complaints in this thread, and I'm sure more who don't visit this forum. But even then, let's say there were 500 of you that we at Scooter Zone pissed off over valid reasons in the past 6 years, that's still only 5 percent. Which when you come to think of it its pretty decent.

And speaking of 6 years, we have grown, progressed and learned a lot from this buisness, and we still learn more every day. What a lot of people don't realize is that we are still a small buisness. We don't have the backing and experience that companies like Madd Gear, Blunt, and other multi million dollar companies have. We still have a long way to go until we reach that point, if ever.

To those of you that we have offended I am sorry. Do I expect you to order from us again after reading this? No. You can buy parts from where ever you want. I just hope some of you guys read this and understand where I am coming from.

And for all the Pro Ride crap... I don't hate them because they steal buisness away from the Zone. Its the fact that they came into the scene with complete copy/knockoff parts from various legit companies who put a lot of time and effort into their products. And they stole riders from companies and made promises to them with perks, pay, travel, jobs, ect when the owner couldn't keep his promise. His riders realized that and quit. Jason Beggs, Tanner Markley, and Raymond Warner just to name a few.. Very unprofessional in my eyes. And when I see a kid with a pro ride scoot at the skatepark, I don't hate on the kid (unless of course he shows no skatepark etiquette and shows no respect, then it doesn't matter who you ride for or what you ride) I hate on the scoot. Not because of the parts, but what they stand for.

And its not just me, every older rider who has been around since the beginning, watched this sport grow and truely loves this sport despises companies like this. And Pro Ride isn't the only one.

Trust me, if you have seen the sport grow over the years, and devoted your life to it, you get very passionate about certain topics..

I know this is a lot, and I guarantee half of you are going to skip it. But I know the people who matter most on this forum will read it, and that's all I care about.

Sz has always had great service for me, Ive only ever seen 3 or 4 people's orders messed up on here, wtg Nick!:D

Thats what i was saying you guys try your best and hardly ever have problems and if you do you try your best to get it fixed. I ordered wheels from you guys this Saturday and they came on Tuesday. And on top of that i broke my french ID fork and it was past warranty but you you guys still gave me half off on a Tilt fork that wasnt even on your online store.
Seems pretty legit to me thats why 90% I buy from scooterzone.

@ nick, read it and loved every word, the only issue i can see is that orders are shipped out slowly which bothers some people, although i have no idea how many orders yall get a week, but where i work we get around 400 every week, and each is large and unuiqe but we get them all shipped out the next day no matter what, even when it was 122 outside i was out there moving boxes for fed ex, we have 12 employees and 3 people working down on the floor for boxes, 2 in the offices and the rest are making the product... My advice for sz (to get on that level of precision) is to get a fedex computer installed at each location (at least 2) and ship out orders daily, it works for us and we have had 11 in the industry and are still going, so hopefully it will work for you!

well when i first met you at Chino you gave me dirty looks and would ignore me, and trust me i know all about skatepark etiquette. ill admit i was out of line when i said all of scooterzone talks shit to me, because its mostly just Capron who isnt even on anymore. but they do still talk shit to Jake, but i mean in all honesty he can be a punk most of the time but he can also be chill. i know ProRide screwed them over but i still gave them a shot and it seems that they have learned from their mistakes (much like how ScooterZone learns from their mistakes) because every promise Randy has made to me he has followed through on.

and as for proride copying Lucky, i mean vertex, i really just dont understand why people still try to argue this point. you could say most every company has copied razor by making the bottom of thier decks flat.

dont think im heated or anything because im just trying to help ProRide change their image. they know they fucked up in the beggining but they really want to turn everything around and make a better name for themselves.

also, yea Raymond cut a slit in my bars even though i have SCS but he fixed it right away and i had no problems at all :)

About proride copying parts, all the parts that were copied have been discontinued or about to be..the only thing that looks remotely to any other part is the deck and its going to change in the near future. Every company has there ups and downs when they are starting up but then things start too run a little more smoothly and stuff changes. I never had any hate on any companies until SZ started to hate on proride so much.

i still dont hate them, i just hate the hate they direct towards ProRide.

Shotty customer service isn't a result of a lack of experience in the scooter community (comparisons to blunt and other companies) its a lack of retail experience. Speaking with a managerial or administrative member of any retail outlet (off the clock) for some retail advice would DEFINITELY improve how SZ is run. Policies like reimbursing the customer for shipping with parts in a return situation or the fact that you have a ZERO return policy (aka: only store credit, never cash) is a big turn off. SZ can't afford policies like that within the growing scooter community as their competition strengthens. Be they as legit as FD or as "despised" as Proride, if they offer better customer service they will eventually steal your customers. I'm still not sure if I will order from scooterzone again or not.

If Yall shipped stuff out like ECX or Inward you guys could be #1, but until then many people will write you off in their books

I forgot to add that to the original post
