Josh Young said:ok just to start off i think that jesse might just be the best scooter rider on the face of the earth. but he is just takin it to far, i mean come on dub whipflip to bar, 360 bri whip this is just getting to crazy. its like when you watch his riding its like playing a tony hawk game, nothing is realistic. he is the best rider on the face of the earth, but i hate his riding. he is just to good. i would rather watch like a good street vid with a clean whip over like a 6 set and have the kids friends go like wild because he did something that he though was good. now that is just like a bunnyhop. i know we need this to put us into the x-games but come on, after a while there will be nothing left to do. tell me what you think.

If you do all the best of the best tricks now there will be nothing left to get crowds amped up if it ever does go mainstream and then it will be very short lived.
I admire people like Jesse because he really is incredible but there is no reason to be right now... save it for the public eye when the time comes. It is like showing your hand in a game of poker... even if you have a good hand you already gave it away...
dude you're totally contradicting yourself. first you say have fun, then you say wait for media attention?
for many riders, having fun IS learning new tricks. dont try to tell me jesse wasnt proud of himself when he first tried a double flip in a ramp. its not about the public at all, who the hell cares if progression takes place on this website with people posting videos or if its at the australian xgames on espn8? progression is good, no matter how it takes place. if people are learning tricks and having a good time, then theres no reason to try and wait for the "mainstream" to come around and notice it. its not like progression is going to be stop... if it ever does get into the xgames or something like that, the tricks will only be better than they are now. i think we'd all rather see a flip double whip late barspin over a spine in 2 years then onto a box jump like it is now, so why not do your best and keep progressing. if the mainstream ever wants to embrace scootering, then let them, it should NEVER change the way anyone rides.
Jesse Macaluso said:I aggree with you, brandon and steven 100% aswell... but the thing I dont understand is how a thread was made about this.. and me progressing, but... how am I any different from Terry... he was doing things over spines 3 years before most people could do them onto a box... he did a flair 3 years before I could even backflip... and he did a 180 tailwhip to double finger, before I even saw anyone do it onto a box top. I like the point of this thread though... progression does not stop, there is never going to be an end...look at skating, it's been progressing non stop for the past 12+ years.. and BMX has been progressing for 20+...they may have had a breif period where it slowed down, but now frontflips and triple whips and other things of that nature... thing thought to be impossible are being done by 17 year old riders... and more scooter riders still have to ride vert, and theres a whole new level of riding to be accomplished right there... and dirt aswell... I've seen terry do a superman deckgrab over dirt on a scooter, so it proves we can excell in dirt aswell.

Jesse Macaluso said:The things people are doing now, shock riders like Silas Henderson, cause we showed him videos of recent riders and he was in awe... basically, we went from tailwhips on flat ground, to doing most of the stuff that bikers do, and I aggree completly with Phil and Eric, in about a year... we will probably see things done that seem hard to comprehend right now... I'm sure when Jordan Miller invented front scoots, he never thought a barspin or tailwhip could be comboed with it... just wait... I think in a year or two, just about every rider will have two trick combos standard for them and the best riders will be doing three trick airs. I just want to be around to see scootering progress further than it has... even if it never reaches global recognition, I want to see the tricks continue to increase in difficulty.
PS, thanks for your concern about "taking it too far" ... progression never stops... I'l reach an end eventually, but I dont plan on stopping now .. Minivid 4 in a few months.
Corey Winard said:i dont agree at all, in the least. Jesse is very talented and works(ed) hard to get where he is scootering wise. why do you think he is so respected. if you think he is so great dont put a damper on his skill, just respect it and hope that in the future u can amount to the progress, consistancy, and determination he has.
