fuuck I feel bad for anybody who gets hit by this. I've had personal experience with hurricanes and they are not fun.

haha lmao at that but yeah my dads work deals with storms and he keeps saying its getting worse... at least for maryland, havent had one here in like 6 years
I was hit by hurricane charley when I lived in SC, and the whole fat south neighborhood was swimming in the street which was like 4 feet high of water

I thought this was all hype at first, but this shits getting serious. All the shore points here are under mandatory evacuation. Ive NEVER seen that. Apparently its supposed to be a low category 2 or a high category 1 when it hits us. Usually they drop down to a tropical depression when they reach us..
Of course people are dramatic and over-react, but this is kinda freaky. Guess well see what happens.

A levee in the Delaware River cracked from that earthquake so if that breaks it's gonna be a tidal wave headed directly for my house, and hitting my grandpa's house as well. It's guaranteed to flatten his house if it breaks. I had to take everything out of my backyard and put it on our sun porch, but bricks and stuff in front of the sun porch door, and tie down our tables and big things like that to our fence. Went out and bought protein bars, peanut butter, jelly, bread, etc. and things that don't need to be cooked in case the power goes out for days. Lifted everything at least a foot or two off the basement floor so it doesn't get soaked and packed an emergency bag of some clothes and special belongings in case we have to evac. My family goes ham, we're prepared hahaha. I'm hoping for the best and I hope that nothing happens, bute if it does anything bad I hope it damages our house so much that we have to move because I hate my neighborhood.
edit- Also, googled pictures of what happened to SC. There's videos of people being wiped away at beaches and houses getting destroyed instantly by the high winds. Shit got wrecked. This thing isn't a joke so all you dudes who aren't prepared, be ready to go days without power. That means no cooking food, no computer, no TV. Be prepared to go days without cell phone service.

Damn Joe haha. I was just talking to someone who brought up the levee situation. I remember when a levee on the delaware broke a couple years ago (couldve been the same one, or a different one). It flooded Cooper River all the way up to the road on the Collingswood/ Pennsauken side.

This is gonna suuck! I thought it would be awesome at first.. but now.. estimated 10-12in of rain and 120mph top winds are gonna be crazy. My town never gets hit.. and usually floods with about 2in of rain.. now whats gonna happen :O

I'm scared shitless. I hope nothing gets damaged but that's kind of unrealistic to say... Of think. Ugh first the quake now hurricane what's next?? And good luck Joe hopefully it will be alright.

I was being sarcastic haha and I'm in Chapel Hill now so it's like 50+ miles from the edge. All there was was a bit of rain and it's still cloudy.
And this is actually working in my favor, all the girls from wilmington had to evac and i've met like three that are from durham so they're all chilling at UNC for the weekend ;D

Let Texas have some hurricanes were were in 108 degree weather and were a one of the biggest droughts in texas known to man!
You say that now but if it hit you guys you'd be screwed. Buildings are made to withstand the weather in that area. Your buildings would be flattened since they aren't designed to withstand such fast winds and harsh rain.
It started raining a little. We might evacuate to my aunt's house in Deptford since we're in such a high-priority flood zone. If you're going to evacuate, GO BEFORE IT HITS. Those winds could flip over practically any car, and surely throw you right off the road. We're now also in a tornado warning as well.
Chances are, Center City Philly and places like NYC are most likely going to get demolished. Those skyscrapers with a million windows won't stand a chance.
