There's a bunch of shelters opening up locally now, and I live a quarter mile from the Delaware river... About 250 ft from my house, not even, (behind the guy across the street to the right) is a bunch of swamps.. I have to drain my basement the whole time. I'm thinking of talking my parents into leaving and I'll go to my girlfriend's if we lose power because there would be really no reason for us to stay at that point, plus she has a 2nd story condo lol.

There's a cracked levee in the delaware right near my grandpa's house. If it breaks he'll get flooded, like completely. He tied a canoe to his porch so if it happens he can just sail away hahaha.

Looks like it'll be a category one when it hits us. But even at that, not many storms become a category at all.

Is this still being compared to Katrina and Irene over there? I've been watching satellite images on BBC, and it's huge.

I don't really remember Katrina for some reason, other than news reports. Irene destroyed the cayman islands though didn't they? Correct me if I'm wrong, this is just what I have done in geography assignments.

Katrina buttraped new orleans, parts of it still aren't even close to recovered. Irene did probably less than a quarter as much damage in both money and lives lost.

Katrina was a Category Three and Irene was a baby, this thing is huge but not as strong as Katrina.. Only a Category One, but nonetheless, strong as fuck to make a category.

For the record, Katrina wasn't as strong as people think. It was only so devastating because a major levee broke in New Orleans.

It didn't really matter that Katrina was a cat three. Andrew was a cat five, but Katrina did much more damage than Andrew did.
