I do understand how ics works but I don't understand how to install the ics when the fork is already pinned and the cap needs to rest at the bottom of the fork. Can anyone help me with this... Maybe it's too late and I can't think properly...
it is great its exactly wat i got and to install it just go get the starnut installed i think 2 1/2 inch into your bars at a local bike shop and than just put your bars pn the fork like usual and put the washer (yellow thing if ur getting the proto ICS) on the bolt and put that through the bottom of the fork and screw that bolt into the starnut and than its all good
When you look inside the fork, their should be no pins sticking out further than the inside walls of the fork tube, it's unnecessary. They should be cut so they do not stick out into the actual space inside the fork tube.
That pin is not gonna work with ics. Either get some other form of compression, or get shorter screws and thread them in rather than going all the way through so there is space in the middle for a compression bolt.
Ok so if I cut the existing tension pin it would still serve it's purpose and not malfunction by allowing the steer tube to become disattached to the legs?
