And how exactly do you know there parts are equally strong?
You dont.
Lucky has been very involved, supported and helped out the sport for almost 2 years, sponsoring lots of riders, and releasing amazing videos to show they are actually doing stuff to show they care and are honestly one of the most legit companies.
Now vertx comes in the picture with cheap prices for a couple weeks and they're gonna ruin lucky. Shows how much they care about the company that distributed " there parts" this whole time. Screw them
K 1. Inward SUCKS they messed up my 50 dollar order with some fucking razor axles
2. I'll always be a fan of lucky and I think there's something fishy going on with vertx
From what ive heard first hand Vert-x claims that the smx fork is their intellectual property which is entirely not true. Jessee Ikedah definitely designed that fork i saw the designs and idea way before it was released. He came up with the idea and a picture which he then gave to brian who scaled it and such for production. Lucky has alot more places making their parts then just vertx. Im pretty sure brian doesnt even make parts through them anymore. Most of the lucky production has now moved to Arizona.
VertX never claimed that the SMX is their own complete design, however, without VertX the SMX would not exist. From what ive heard first hand Vert-x claims that the smx fork is their intellectual property which is entirely not true. Guys I know this is a he said she said thing but for those who want the real truth, here it is. I was asked to make a fork that looked like a BMX fork. That’s it! No drawings were ever given to me, no sketches, not even a crayon outline on a napkin. I took that information and developed a design and submitted that design to my customer. I still have the email showing the designs I sent. The design was approved so I took it to the next level. I did all of the theoretical stress analysis produced a prototype and submitted it to my customer. This prototype was debuted by Jessee Ikedah and was to become his signature fork. Jessee was actually in my shop a couple times during the process. I’m not claiming to have come up with the original “idea”. I have never said that nor will I ever. I did however take an idea and come up with a design and turn it in to reality. Coming up with an idea would be like saying I want a TV that washes my clothes. The design for this TV is what shows how it works and how to build it. Again, form your own opinion – everyone will.
...i think everyones trippin on it, get the fuck over it, its a scooter who cares if it looks the same, skateboards look the fucking same and so do bikes. stop being whiney ------s like real chop, the more scooer parts that are the same, the better. more companies, more exposure, more chances for a team, plus fuckys comin out with a new deck anyway so all you whiners get over it really.
