just another reason to WEAR YOUR HELMET!

in all my years of riding ive usually worn a helmet other than chill seshes, yesterday i didnt. showed up to the long beach skatepark not even planning to ride, rode for about 5 min, aired a 10 ft quarter about 5 ft over just warming up and pulled out to flat... fell about 15 ft to my face broke multiple bones in my eye socket and cheek and now need to get my face reconstructed.
just wanted to remind you guys how important it is to wear your helmet because random stupid shit like this happens and i can assure you your head is the last thing you want to get surjery on.
from now on you wont see me riding without a helmet, most likely a helmet with a chin pad too because thats one of the most common injuries is hitting your chin.

but in all seriousness, with your incident, tomk's incident, and many other facial injuries still would have happened because your helmet only protects your head, not your face. so if you did wear your helmet, your cheek would still have been broken and most likely your eye socket too.

Were these posts really nessasary? Plenty of people ask me why I wear a helmet. I find it quite silly to answer to their ignorance because everyone knows why, it just seems that people think less of you if you do wear one. I don't think it's an incorrect decision not to wear a helmet, I just see it as a risk taken every time riding. I don't like to take that risk.

I always wear a helmet (except for flat/dicking around). Fuck looking "cool", i'd rather avoid the surgery.

Also, most helmets if worn right will hit the ground before the eye/face does, so no, if tomk/tanner was wearing a helmet he would've definitely not gotten as hurt (still injured as hell though)

Yeah i am looking to getting one at the moment because ive seriously been worried about falling on my face lately for soem reason. And yeah you would still hit your chin and shit but the impact will be less because the helmet hit first and has upsorbed most of the impact and for some reason my spelling is shit right now.

What Rob said. Your nose may be broken, your jaw might be, but it saves the eyebrow and forehead. And that's the stuff that when you hit it, and it breaks, your brain is on the line.
