oh no not cocky tanner markleys perfect face

oh noes!!!

helmets just seem unnesscary to me.
they have never helped me if i've hit my head, i don't fall directly on my head it's my face and the helmet doesn't protect my face one bit.
and i am a great faller i know how to hold my arms out to avoid head injury, i'd rather have a broken arm than a broken face. just learn how to fall correctly. all shall be good.

it is better to know how to fall than to not even have the skill to do so when you do fall. because you might feel secure with the helmet on, but it doesn't protect against everything. knowing how to fall almost eliminates the need for a helmet, but not completely. having both would be the best.

Yeah I agree with this. I'm pretty good, and I know how to fall (except with new tricks), but like you said, you should always wear a helmet as a backup, just incase. I've never hit my head, except for this one time where I barspinned an 8 stair and my front wheel snapped. Wasn't too bad though. I also feel more confident with a helmet on, it feels reassuring

You hit your head and they put you in a mental institution? No legitimate doctor would allow that. I call shenanigans Mr. "McHaggis"

Super queer.
Ive had friends who have became retarded and died from smacking their heads and not wearing a helmet. Its all cool till you call you homie to check up on em, and they are either in a coma, mental clinic, or dead due to a head injury. Not saying it happens to everyone, But ive seen it. and i dont wanna see it anymore. love you spicy, glad your okay<4

It's part of the reason i hit my head twice once hard with a helmet and once minor without plus i have had numerous other concussions, but the other half was stuff i never knew about since i am adopted. so im sorry bennett but sit down with your hands under your ass.

I love you too DNoones! Bro's for life! Thanks for sticking by my side man it means alot and i already told you that, just saying it again so everyone can know that Dustin isnt just an angry boy all the time

Tyler knowing how to bail is nice if you're in a somewhat controllable situation.

Like this? Would've hurt like hell if I didn't have my helmet on.
check the comments lolol. Trading a minor annoyance for a concussion is quite alright with me. Even if I don't hit my head often, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Interesting thread.

Every sport struggles with the helmet situation. It's inherent that we want to ride and feel as natural as possible and trade brain buckets for actually knowing how to fall. I mean I've seen these 15-16 year old shredders just eat shit on the dumbest of tricks cause they'v been riding for like 4 months and haven't a clue. Personally, in all of my 9 years the only time I wore a helmet was at XW 2006 cause we all obviously had to but that doesn't make me against them.

I wish I wore my lid more often but I haven't gotten to that stage of my life where my anxiety over injuries trumps my desire to ride comfortably.

ps: free healthcare helps :)

I wear my helmet always when scootering unless i am leterally just messing around in a small space. knowing how to fall dosent work if a part of your scooter breaks (fork or bar snap for example like tom k) or slip like rob did. its way worth paying a bit of cash and a minor annoyance to save your life or to prevent brain damage.
i knwo you can still fall with a helmet on but it confidence boosts as falling on your head is a major risk in some cases.

If I am doing tricks I'm comfortable with, helmet free but if I'm trying new tricks or going big I always wear it :)
