new compression idea

so basically there is a bolt attached inside your down tube and a star-nut in your forks so you twist your bars down until your headset is just right and then you tighten down your clamp and there is less parts to deal with.

example of compression ready bars:

tell me what you think.

no because say your headset is perfect doesnt mean your bars will be straight and if you move them to far one way it will make it tighter or make it losse

How did you plan on tightening it properly? Also theres no way you could get it tight enough AND have your bars in line.

It's threaded bars essentially. Rob is going to kill you and your family if he sees this.

It does not work, because what if something strips or breaks?
& exactly what Mason said.
I really think SCS is the way to go, or HIC.

^ By turning the bars. But I don't think it would work because to get your bars straight and have the compression perfectly tight too wouldnt line up right.

Plus, star nuts in bars just don't work well. Ics sucks, and 2 star nuts would be even worse.

Edit: nvm didn't see that the bolt would be welded into the bars. That part is a good idea, but I think the force of turning the bars would easily make something strip, plus the problem of getting it straight and perfectly tight.

Ics is sooo dialed if you know what your doing and if you put ur starnut in right.

Yeah, for 3 days until the starnut breaks, threads strip, the bolt bends, or it gets loose. plus it's the BIGGEST pain the ass. Way worse then scs as far as difficulty installing/tightening/taking bars off/getting loose.

I ran ICS for a solid 7 months and never once had a problem with it. You need to learn to take care of your scooter better. Why would the starnut break and threads strip any easier than SCS/HIC?

Not necessarily. I rode ics on two sets of bars for months each and never had any problems, the starnut never stripped/moved down/etc and I barely ever had to tighten it.

Okay well Connor sorry but I do know how to take care of my scooter, I can build it up perfect since I have been doing it for 4 yers and never had any help and my setups are always dialed even if I have parts like ovalized wheels or razor headsets (which I dont now lol, thank god).

And to Connor and Matt, maybe it was just my inward ics, but I installed it perfectly, and it always came loose even with blue locktite, plus I hated how you had to take your wheel off to do everything, and plus idk why it happened but after a month it was just conpletely ruined and the bolt took me 2 hours to get out because it stripped, so it didn't even compress my headset.

My ics runs fine, dont ever have to mess with it, can take it in and out and no problems, instead of have it welded inside the bars, make a reaaaaaallllyyy long bolt that goes from the top of your bars in the middle down through your downtube then tightens to a starnut in your forks, so youd have a hole in the middle of your t, a long bolt, pretty much HIC i dont see any point of getting this complicated when hic works fine :p

SCS, HIC, and I hate to say it but Blunt's new IHC or whatever is looking alright as well.

Stop trying to revolutionize the sport unless you actually put R/D into it and not just "HEY GUYS CHECK OUT MY IDEA"

Starnuts in bars are horrible to deal with.

Also, ICS can be dialled. Ask Ralph.
